Shipping & Orders

What countries does People N Planet ship to?

We currently ship to all of the United States. We have plans on adding new countries in the near future. If you are visiting us from outside the U.S., we apologize for not shipping to you at this time. We appreciate your enthusiasm for our brand and our purpose. 

How long to orders usually take to ship and arrive?

We ask that you allow up to 5 business days (excluding holidays) to fulfill your order; however, we’ll make every effort to complete it sooner. Once fulfilled, delivery time will vary based on the delivery location.

We offer free ground shipping to all of the U.S. via standard shipping. Delivery times may be between 2-5 business days. 

How much is shipping?

We offer free shipping to all the U.S. via standard/ground shipping.

Why don’t you offer express shipping?

In an pledge to be greener we are currently not offering express shipping. Ground shipping is a greener option compared to express and depending on your location you should receive your order between 2-5 business days.

Which
mail carrier(s) do you ship with?

The carrier is dependent on the location of the shipping address. Generally, we us either UPS and USPS.

How will I know my order has shipped?

You will receive an email indicating that your order has shipped along with the tracking information.

How can I see the status of my order?

There are a couple of ways to track your order:

1. If you have an account, log in to your account log in and check Order status.  

2. If you placed your order without setting up an account, have your order number and the associated email address handy. Go to Order Status (found at the bottom of the page in the Help Center) and complete the information.

Size & Fit

How do I know what size I need; is there a size chart I can refer to?

Yes, we do have a size chart. You can find the link to a chart on each product page, at the bottom of any page, or right. In an effort to limit shipping and our carbon footprint, we ask that you measure your favorite, best fitting garment, preferably one that is similar to the one you want to buy and compare that to what we have.

Worry not, if the size is still not quite right, please email us at orders@peoplenplanet.com and follow the steps indicated under Returns and we’ll take care of it.

Returns & Refunds

What is your return policy?

We hope you love what you ordered; however, if you’re not happy, we’re not happy. We gladly accept returns 15 days after the delivery date, which means you have 15 days after receiving your item to request a return.

Do you offer free returns?

Yes, we want you to have the best shopping experience possible.

What if I received the wrong item or a damaged item?

Please inspect your order upon arrival and contact us immediately if the item is damaged or if you received the wrong item so we can evaluate the issue and make it right.

You can either email us at orders@peoplenplanet.com or click Contact Us (found at the bottom of the page in the Help Center). Please provide a detailed message about the issue and note the order number in the subject line.

If we accidentally sent you the wrong item, we’ll immediately ship you the right one and send you a label to send the incorrect item back.

How do I initiate a return?

At this time, please contact us directly to initiate a return. You can either email us at orders@peoplenplanet.com or click Contact Us (found at the bottom of the page in the Help Center). Please provide a detailed message about the issue and note the order number in the subject line. We will work with you to resolve the issue. If needed, we will email you a free return label.

 In the spirit of being greener, we ask that you try to reuse the original packaging, reuse any other packaging you may have lying around and limit returns when possible.

We are working to automate our return process and are looking forward to rolling it out.

When can I expect my refund?

Once we review the return, we will review and process it. We'll contact you immediately via email or phone if there are any issues with your return. Please note that a refund may take up to 3 weeks to process.

Do you offer exchanges?

We apologize, we don’t accept direct exchanges at this time. Please return the item(s) you’d like and then place a new order when ready.

Sustainability & Carbon offset

What makes People N Planet sustainable and eco-friendly?

Sustainable, eco-friendly, and organic are all terms that are unfortunately being thrown around the textile industry with little to no regulation of use or validation. For example, we found a brand that stated their collection was sustainable. To our surprise, the shirt was mostly polyester, but since the tag was made with recycled paper, they could say they were sustainable.

We are constantly look to improve however we are currently taking the following steps to be as sustainable as possible:

  • Limiting our use of fossil fuel based materials such as polyester and Spandex.
  • Using certified organic cotton.
  • Using compostable packaging and labels and eliminating any unnecessary packaging.
  • Offsetting the carbon from our supply chain, shipping, and day-to-day operations.
  • Eliminating any unnecessary tags or labels, items that are usually discarded.

Why is People N Planet so strict with their fabrics? Why don’t they blend their clothes with Spandex or polyester as allowed by GOTS?

We take sustainability very seriously, and there are several reasons we avoid plastic-based fabrics like polyester, Spandex, nylon, and acrylic as much as possible. Yes, incorporating these materials, especially Spandex, changes the fabric's properties, giving that all to well-known stretch. However, it comes at a cost to the environment when it's made and when it's disposed of, even at the small percentages allowed by GOTS. 

Here are some of the significant reasons we avoid plastic-based fabrics:

  • Derived from fossil fuels and use harsh chemicals to produce. The use of fossil fuels to make clothing is not sustainable.
  • Plastic-based materials do not compost and are not biodegradable Well, technically, they are biodegradable; however, they take many decades, if not centuries, to do so and leech millions of microplastic particles into the environment in the process.
  • These materials release microplastics every time they are washed and as they degrade. Microplastics pollute our water systems, get into our food chain, persist in the environment for a long time, and are harmful to marine life.

Why don’t you use recycled polyester (rPET), everyone keeps saying it’s sustainable?

Yes, rPET is a better option than virgin polyester; however, rPET is not well suited for clothing. Almost all rPET comes from PET bottles, close to 99%. Once a bottle is transformed into fabric, it is complicated to recycle again into more clothing as rPET textile-to-textile recycling is still in its infancy. It’s better to keep plastic bottles in a circular system where they can be made into new bottles, a cycle that can be done multiple times before the plastic quality degrades.

Plus, rPET fabric is still plastic and still release microplastics. At the end of their use, they still find their way to a landfill, where they remain for many decades or get incinerated, releasing hazardous fumes into the atmosphere.

How is People N Planet offsetting its carbon footprint?

The offsetting of carbon and carbon credits is another highly debated topic. However, some ways are better than others, that part is clear. We are in discussions with companies that will help us through this process and allow us to display the metrics of the impact you are having by purchasing from us and the positive impact we are all having on the environment. Until then, we will continue to track our carbon footprint.

Other questions

Why are your styles and size limted?

We do apologize if we don't have your size. We are a family-owned, self funded venture (at least for as long as we can) and as such, have started with limited styles and sizes. As we grow, we will definitely be adding more styles and sizes. We thank you for your patronage.

Do you have retail stores?

Currently, we do not have any retail stores, and we don’t sell through any third-party platform. All our clothes are sold exclusively through our website.

What type of packaging do you use?

We take pride in partnering with like-minded brands. TishWish, a sustainable packaging company that fits our needs and philosophy. The TishWish bubble mailer comes with two strips of adhesive and commercially compostable bubble padding on the inside and is made from recycled paper on the outside. The TishWish mailer is plant based, made from corn, and will break down in 3 months in a commercial composting facility and in about 4-6 months at home.

TishWish created the Timber Re Leaf Project, where they plant a tree for every order they receive. To date, they have planted over 5,500 trees.

Account Information

Do I have to create an account to purchase?

No, you sure don’t, but it’s highly recommended. Creating an account allows you to see your order history, track your orders, and check out quicker. You may order as a guest; however, you will be required to enter your email address so that we can send you order statuses and updates.

I placed an order as a guest; can I now create an account?

Yes. If you placed an order as a guest and would now like to create an account, go to the Account Login page, and click Create account. Use the same email address as the one used to check out as a guest; this will ensure that your previous orders are visible.

How do I change my account password?

To change your password, log into your account and select Change Password. You will be prompted to enter a new password, and after clickingSubmit, you will be logged out of the system. Use your new password to log back in.

I forgot my password, can you help?

Of course, but we won't be able to retrieve your existing password; you'll need to create a new one. Go to the Account Login page and click on Forgot your password. Enter the associated email and click Submit. A reset account password email will be sent to you. Click on the link and enter a new password.
